São Paulo, January 03, 2023 – The third edition of the “Plant Love, Harvest Hope” campaign, promoted by Lavoro, the largest distributor and redistributor of agricultural inputs in Latin America, ended with a record. More than 70 tons of food were collected, 8% more than in 2021, and are being donated to the NGO Ação Cidadania and other regional charities, in several states, such as Tocantins, Rondônia, Minas Gerais, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, São Paulo, Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul.
The initiative also raised funds to subsidize more than 27 thousand meals, only with the contributions that arrived via PIX. “We are very happy with the engagement achieved by the action. This is the highest result obtained in three editions. We thank our partners, collaborators, customers and everyone who has been touched by this cause that is really urgent for our country: the fight against food insecurity, which devastates a large part of our population”, celebrates Ruy Cunha, Lavoro’s CEO.
The campaign had collection points in 153 stores and four corporate offices of Lavoro, distributed throughout Brazil. In these locations alone, more than 24 tons of food were collected. 47 tons were added through contributions from the company itself and from the partners in the initiative, the companies Adama, Agrobiológica Sustentabilidade, Crop Care, FMC, Microxisto and UPL.
