São Paulo, September21, 2021 – Lavoro, the largest distributor of agricultural inputs in Latin America, and ADAMA, one of the largest crop protection companies in the world, launched their solidary campaign “Plante Amor e Colha Esperança 2021” in September 20. The purpose of the initiative is to collect food in all Brazilian cities where Lavoro operates and owns stores.

Basic food basket and personal hygiene items can be donated at all Lavoro stores until October 25th. All proceeds will be destined to social programs present in over 74 cities and 135 stores, located in the states of Mato Grosso, Rondônia, Tocantins, Mato Grosso do Sul, Goiás, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.

“Food security is and must be of utmost concern to agribusiness companies. The effects of the pandemic are still deeply felt and many families depend on donations. We are quite pleased in having ADAMA join us in this campaign, which reinforces the social commitment of both companies in a scenario of great economic uncertainty”, contextualizes Marcelo Abud, CEO for Lavoro.

“At this moment, the combination of efforts and the spirit of solidarity are even more important. This campaign is an opportunity for us to share the results of this union with those who are most in need”, says Romeu Stanguerlin, CEO for ADAMA.

In 2021, the program is expected to double the mark achieved in the first solidarity campaign led by Lavoro and carried out last year, in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. Around 30 tons of food collected locally and donated by the company were distributed in 2020.

“We want to raise 60 tons of basic food basket and personal hygiene items with the campaign, 10 tons of which through donations from our employees, suppliers and society in general, and 50 tons subsidized by Lavoro and ADAMA. The collections will be destined to charitable entities in the small municipalities where we are present. We hope that everyone chooses participate so that our goal is reached and so we may support many Brazilians in social vulnerability situations”, highlights Abud.

In tandem with the campaign, Lavoro employees will be encouraged to donate blood at local banks, located in the countryside of nine states. “In 2020, 730 people were assisted thanks to blood donations from our internal teams. We are hoping to reach 1,500 beneficiaries in 2021”, reiterates the Lavoro CEO.

Like Lavoro, ADAMA is encouraging its employees to donate both basic food items and blood.

How to donate:
