Continuing its expansion strategy in Colombia, Lavoro, the largest distributor of agricultural inputs in Latin America, has just announced the acquisition of Provecampo. Headquartered in Colombia, the new investee has three Distribution Centers, located in the cities of Monteria, Belen de Bajira and Apartadó.

Founded in 2002, the company distributes high quality products for the agricultural sector and provides technical support to local farmers, with about 25 employees and great relevance in northern Colombia, a region where Lavoro intends to leverage its market share.

“We are very pleased to welcome the company to the group and to be able to count on its entire team, which will remain in the operation and will further strengthen Lavoro’s relationship of trust with Colombian suppliers and customers”, celebrates Ruy Cunha, CEO for Lavoro.

The acquisitions of Provecampo is in line with the business strategy of the Lavoro group, which includes organic growth through the opening of new stores and the acquisition of companies that are in synergy with the company. “With this acquisition, we expect to advance 3 p.p. in Provecampo’s region of activity and 0.5 p.p. in the country”, the executive explains. 

Among the acquisitions and mergers made since 2017 to form Lavoro are the following networks: Lavoro Agrocomercial, Impacto Insumos Agrícolas, Agrovenci, Central Agrícola, América Insumos, AGSE (Colombia), Grupo Cultivar, Denorpi, Deragro, Futuragro, Gral (Colombia), Integra Insumos, Grupo Pitangueiras, Plenafértil, Produtec, Qualicitrus, Realce, Produttiva, Cenagro (Colombia), AgroZap, Nova Geração, Floema*, Casa Trevo* and CATR*. Throughout Latin America, more than 3,000 employees are employed by companies that are part of Lavoro.

* The operations are still subject to fulfillment of precedent conditions and to the approval by the local regulatory body.
