São Paulo, December 12, 2022 Lavoro, the largest distributor of agricultural inputs in Latin America, has just launched the solidarity company “Plant Love, Harvest Hope 2022”. The purpose of the initiative is to collect and donate food in several Brazilian cities where there are operations set in and Lavoro’s stores.

In addition to the suppliers and partners support for the purchase of food staples, the campaign also has collection points in 153 stores and four Lavoro’s corporate offices, distributed throughout Brazil. Donations can be made by collaborators, customers, suppliers and society in general. The aim is collect around 65 tons of food, or 5 thousand food staples, which will be distributed to entities throughout Brazil.

“The 21/22 cycle was a great expansion period for Lavoro. As the company grows, we feel even more responsible for the people who live in the regions where we operate. We live in a country where food insecurity for a portion of the population is, unfortunately, still a reality. Therefore, we decided to continue with our annual food collection campaign. The main objective is to do good and we thank everyone involved in this initiative”, explains Guilherme Rosa, National Marketing Manager.

The 3,500 food staples that will be purchased by Lavoro and partners will be used for the Christmas without Hunger project, of the NGO Citizenship Initiative, which will be distributed to local entities in Tocantins, Rondônia and Minas Gerais. Collections in the companies stores and offices will be distributed to local institutions.

In December of this year, Lavoro earned an award for its association with Sesc Mesa Brasil in the 2021 campaign, which collected more than 65 tons of supplies for institutions and families in a situation of food insecurity.

How to donate?

Collections can be made between January 5 and 23, 2022. There is no minimum volume, as long as they are non-perishable foods. It is also possible to donate hygiene and cleaning kits, as well as clothing, at Lavoro stores and offices, as long as everything is within the expiration date and in good condition.
