With more than 190 stores in Brazil and Colombia, the Lavoro Group is emerging in Agribusiness as the largest distributor and redistributor of agricultural inputs in Latin America. The company’s revenue in the 21/22 cycle reached the BRL 7.2 billion mark. The expectation for the 22/23 harvest is to reach R$10 billion, maintaining the current level of annual organic growth, which is around 25%.

Lavoro was created from the merger and acquisition of more than 20 large and medium-sized distribution companies, under the control of the Pátria Investimentos Fund. In addition, the group has its own brands of agrochemicals, foliar and biological fertilizers.

More than 55,000 customers are already served, through Lavoro’s physical and digital presence in the main agricultural regions of Latin America. The company currently covers Brazilian states in the Midwest (Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiás), North (Tocantins and Rondônia), Southeast (São Paulo and Minas Gerais) and South (Paraná, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul).

“Lavoro’s focus is to keep expanding its activities in Brazil and in South American countries such as Colombia, Chile, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Our strategy contemplates the organic growth of the units and the acquisition of companies that have synergies with the company, as well as the expansion of the areas of activity of the invested companies or the opening of branches in regions where we are not yet present”, explains Ruy Cunha, CEO for Lavoro.

Besides the strong presence in the field, with a specialized team for technical visits and direct contact with customers, Lavoro also created an online platform, CompreLavoro, to serve farmers, agronomists and other agribusiness professionals, which positions the company as one of the pioneers in the agricultural inputs sector in the digital area. In this high-tech scenario, in 2021, the company launched the Minha Lavoro application, giving even more protagonism to the rural producer.

Lavoro’s portfolio includes leading brands in seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, foliar fertilizers, biological inputs and other innovative products for agriculture and livestock. And recently, the company also launched its own specialty brand, Essenziale, which includes fertilizers and adjuvants. The main crops currently served by Lavoro are: soy, corn, cotton, coffee, beans, rice, sugarcane, wheat, citrus and pastures.

Among the acquisitions and mergers made since 2017 to form Lavoro are the following networks: Lavoro Agrocomercial, Impacto Insumos Agrícolas, Agrovenci, Central Agrícola, América Insumos, AGSE (Colombia), Grupo Cultivar, Denorpi, Deragro, Futuragro, Gral (Colombia), Integra Insumos, Grupo Pitangueiras, Plenafértil, Produtec, Qualicitrus, Realce, Produttiva, Cenagro (Colombia), AgroZap, Nova Geração, Provecampo (Colombia), Floema, Casa Trevo, CATR, Sollo Sul, and Dissul*.
