Lavoro, the first agricultural inputs distributor in Latin America to have its shares listed on the Nasdaq, the American stock exchange, is launching the fourth edition of the “Plant Love, Harvest Hope 2023” campaign.Last year, more than 100 social institutions received donations and more than 20,000 people benefited.

The aim of the initiative is to collect and donate the equivalent of around 5,000 food baskets in various Brazilian cities where Lavoro operations and stores are located. The campaign has two fronts of solidarity – corporate donations, in partnership with suppliers and partners, and collections among employees, customers and the community, at Lavoro’s 190 stores and four offices throughout Brazil.

“The 22/23 cycle was a great expansion period for Lavoro. We’ve had unprecedented and incredible milestones for our growth as a company, such as going public on Nasdaq. We have a lot to be thankful for this year, and we understand that there is no better way to repay this gratitude than by helping others. That’s why we’ve decided to continue with our annual food collection campaign, which has now become a tradition. The main goal is to do good, and we thank everyone involved in this action”, explains Ruy Cunha, CEO of Lavoro.

The goal is to raise around 35 tons of food directly at the branches, or 2,700 baskets, which will be distributed locally in dozens of municipalities. The solidarity partnership with suppliers will allocate 2,300 food baskets to the NGO Ação Cidadania‘s annual Natal sem Fome (Christmas without Hunger) campaign, benefiting organizations in states such as Pará, Maranhão and Rio Grande do Sul.

How to donate?

Donations can be made until December 22, 2023. There is no minimum volume, as long as they are non-perishable foods. It is also possible to donate hygiene and cleaning kits, as well as clothing, at Lavoro stores and offices, as long as everything is within the expiration date and in good condition.

“Everyone can help, whether it’s a partner, employee, customer, supplier or society in general. Donation is essential and the certainty that it will change many people’s Christmas”, concludes the executive.

The Plant Love, Harvest Hope campaign has the support of partner companies such as Adama, Agrobiológica, Crop Care, and UPL.
